Objective:

This person has the responsibility of maintaining the quality specifications of
products through inspections and control procedures, in addition, this position must ensure
that all SQF, HACCP, and regulatory requirements comply with USDA, FDA, or internal procedures.
Activities:
1. Maintain all procedures, schedules, and forms related to SQF and other certifications
updated and to be prepared for audits.
2. Ensure that all the records relating to Food Safety and Quality systems are followed
according to procedures. When it is necessary, this person must do training for
personnel assigned to keep the records.
3. Conduct weekly verifications of the records related to the Food Safety and Quality System
and other regulatory requirements. He/she must print and maintain the updated forms
for every person responsible for writing the records.
4. This position must attend services suppliers related to cleaning/food safety, such as
pest control, cleaning, and others, he/she must review service records and be sure
They are following internal procedures.
5. Responsible for the verification and application of calibration procedures of the measurement
dispositive like thermometers, scales, etc.
6. This person must conduct daily internal inspections in the warehouse, which include
evaluation of temperatures, conditions, cleaning, and accommodation of the product
in the storage areas. The objective is that he/she can identify compliance or noncompliance of internal rules and apply corrective measures with the supervisor when
it is necessary.
7. Monitor the shelf-life of products to ensure products do not spoil, and verify the
change of locations procedures (fresh to frozen).
8. Follow up on return products procedures in conjunction with warehouse personnel to
ensure product is handled correctly and final destinations are adequate.
9. Conduct inspections of receiving and shipping procedures to ensure that the parameters
of transportation and products are met correctly. Apply corrective actions when
necessary.
10. Responsible for identifying and applying hold product procedures when an item
does not comply with quality parameters. Maintain updated hold products inventory
and follow up with the destination of these products in the Florida location.
11. Onboarding of new hired personnel in all the topics related to Quality/Food Safety as
PPE, HACCP, Food Safety Policies, and SQF. Support with other topics like safety or
human resources-related items.
12. Support the implementation of safety procedures, such as weekly inspections of safety
dispositive and attention to the first response to accidents.
13. Document and report deviations in products originated by vendors, follow up
development of claims and resolutions.
14. Implementation and follow-up to the quality/food safety annual training schedule, develop
training materials, perform training sessions, and maintain records of the training
events.
15 . Communication with other departments, such as warehouse operations, logistics, sales,
purchasing and others to resolve issues related to claims or follow-up projects of the
company.

Skills and requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a food-related manufacturing facility.
  • College degree in Food Science or related field with HACCP certification.
  • Quality Control experience in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of USDA/SQF/SOP and inspection performance (a plus).
  • Knowledge of basic GMPs. (is a plus).
  • Must be able to read and write in English to perform necessary documentation.
  • E-verify company.
